The starter can be burned by ignorance or by an unfortunate accident. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to know what can lead to such an unfortunate breakage. Motorists call it "harmful advice", which should be remembered, but never again. What situation does the starter lose?

What situation does the starter lose?

The most common way drivers have been called "classic". In most cases, inexperienced starting motorists (especially in winter) at engine startup hold the key in the engine start position-START. If the vehicle does not start instantly, the driver decides that it is possible to "give the gas" to 2 to 3 thousand turns and to "give the gas". All these actions are accompanied by a distinctive "squeal." That the starter has come to an end, one can be judged by a slight haze from under the hood.

To understand why the starter could get out of the system after these actions, you need to be able to represent his device in general terms. In this situation, the bendix tries to catch up with the flywheel, which is why it overheat and, as a result, conjures up. The bendy of the bendix "pulls" after itself the shaft with the gearbox and anchor (in the case of the less-reductive starter-only the anchor). Then the rotating anchor of the anchor in a few seconds literally clears the remnants of the brushes, the plastic ring of the glider is cracked, and the body of the starter itself may burst.

The following method is characteristic of diesel-fuelled vehicles and is referred to as "etheric". The essence of this is that some drivers use the "fat" of diesel fuel (such as air). As a consequence, the high pressure fuel pump may not be properly adjusted at the time of launch, due to the early ignition of the mixture. As a result of this detonation, the crown of the flywheel can do reverse blows to the fans.  And since the starter diesel vehicles are thrashing three times more than in petrol, because of the situation described above, the anx breaks and the front of the starter fractures by not withstanding the overloads. It may also break the steel shaft of the anchor.

Problem: How do I not burn the starter

The motorist should remember that if the engine doesn't start, the problem is not necessarily the starter. The key in the START position must be held for no more than 5 seconds. If the engine doesn't survive, it's mostly because the battery is empty, and the starter just doesn't have enough power to start the engine.

All manufacturers in the manukahs of the car place a warning that if it is difficult to start the engine, it is possible to hold the key in the START position for a maximum of 5 to 20 seconds, and after each attempt, it is necessary to make a 15-second break to give the starter a little cold. After three attempts, it is recommended that you take a longer pause-order of 30 to 60 seconds. These numbers may vary from one manufacturer to another, but the point remains the same-it is impossible to "spin" the starter until the engine starts. Such launch may result in battery discharge and, if not complied with the recommendations for work with the starter, then the failure of the battery.

To escape the other two options is also quite simple-in the first case ("puddle") it is necessary to ensure that the starter does not get moisture-it is enough simply not to turn the car into amphibians and to storm the big deep puddle, and especially the fords. And in the case of diesel cars, it is necessary to give up the air.

In conclusion, it should be said that the starter may be "burned" only by the fault of the motorist, because of his inept action, such as keeping the key in the "start" position for a long time, when the engine does not want to get started, or vice versa, when it has already started, or rash decisions, such as the use of "residents". Drivers (especially beginnier and inexperienced) should be remembered that the breakdown can also bring moisture to the starter during engine washing or after "storming" especially deep puddle.
