The principle of active head restraint on Astra J is as follows: in the case of a driver (or front passenger), he is pressed in the seat with his back, with the back of the driver in the seat back to the platform. The platform itself is fixed in the seat-back structure only in one place (black arrow), so the mechanism works and the "carriage" is moved along the direction of the red arrows. The volume is pulled out from the housing and thus puts the head restraint of the housing by 4 centimeters. Such head restraints are known as active-in the case of an accident, the driver will not be struck with the head with the force likely to cause injury.
