Many owners of the Mercedes E-Class (W211) face a backlight failure (the backlight may blink or not be lit) and the wrong odometer reading. This is due to the failure of some components of electronics inside the panel. In such a case, it is necessary to understand the panel of instruments and ensure the integrity of electronic devices.

There are many electronic components inside the Mercedes dashboard, and most often, for example, in the event of a failure of a central processor, it turns out that it is easier to replace the panel than to fix the old one. But in some simple cases, such as the replacement of light emitting diodes, the malfunction can be eliminated by itself.

To remove the dashboard, first it is necessary to dismantle the border between the visor of the torpedo and the glass pane of the instrument panel. It's pretty simple, with no special effort. Then the four "torx" screws are swung and the dashboard is pulled out. The 12-pin connector is then deactivated.
