Lancer's body is perfectly corrosion-resistant. Even the earliest instances still don't have traces of rust. However, there are places where the paint is erased. Generally, this is the contact point of the rubber elements and the body. For example, rubber seals and boot limiters quickly erase the paint. The paint is also erased under the hood, where the air intake of the radiator is caught in the bonnet. In order to avoid damage to the paint, pieces of the madelina or solid scotch (such as aluminium) need to be applied to the intersection of the body with the rubber details.
