The ERSO function at Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204) automatically turns off the engine for fuel economy. It works as follows:
- It automatically turns off the engine at low speed on a motor vehicle.
- In an automatic box, it automatically turns the engine off when the vehicle is stopped on D or N.
There are four ways to operate the system:
- 1-the default system is turned on and operating in all modes of the box.
- 2-The system remembers the last state, that is, if the ESA mode is disabled, it will not work until it is reactivated.
- 3-The default system is enabled and active only in the E-box mode.
- 4-The system remembers the last state (the same as in mode 2) and is active in Box E mode.
