In order to take advantage of the hidden menu of the first generation BMW, we do the following. Check to see if the menu is activated. To do this, press and hold the diem reset button until Test Nr. 01 is displayed. The same button then selects a submenu (long pressed) and test numbers (short click). If the menu is not activated:
- Laying the last 5 digits of the car's VIN code.
- We press and hold the mileage reset button.
- After the appearance of Check Control OK OK, wait about 10 seconds until Test Nr. 01.
- Go to the Test Nr. 01 menu and enter a calculated sum of digits.
