The diesel engine turbine Chevrolet Captiva requires special operating conditions to prevent its premature failure:
(1) Progressive motor for 1-2 minutes without touching the gas pedal. During the cold part of the year the warm-up time should be increased to 5 to 10 minutes.
(2) After the engine has been loaded under heavy load (e.g. after long traffic with high speed or downhill downhill), the engine should be operated between 1 and 2 minutes at idle.
(3) Do not press the gas pedal strongly until normal pressure is applied in the lubrication system.
(4) Certified motor oil should be used only.
