The Forward Alert function works in conjunction with adaptive cruise control and controls the movement of the car ahead. If the driver does not observe the required distance to the front of the vehicle, the dashboard will flash the warning icon and the warning signal will be activated. If emergency braking is required, the system will increase the brake system pressure in advance for more efficient braking. This will reduce the stopping distance, but will not eliminate the need to start braking.
