Catalyst is expensive, so instead of replacing them, many prefer simply to remove them.
Catalyst removal will take a little time and a tire iron. The work should be carried out in the "pit" or in the lift.
On a 2-liter lancer lambda probe is installed only in the first catalyst, the second is not controlled by the sensor. Therefore, the removal of the second catalyst will not generate errors. The removal of the first catalyst will improve traction at low speed and the second catalyst will improve.
Before you start, you need to make sure that the engine is completely off.
Then we need to unroll the lambda probe and remove it.
Then, rotate the two bolts retaining the exhaust manifold.
Now we need to unscrew the resonator.
Next, you should remove the two nuts at the bottom of the exhaust manifold and remove it.
The final step is to eject the catalyst with the help of the tire iron.
