Depending on the Mercedes E-Class (W211), the alignment of the steering wheel position may be carried out mechanically or by means of an electric power train. The electrical adjustment can be done if the key is in the ignition lock.
The steering wheel may be adjusted only when the vehicle is stopped and moved only after the steering system has been adjusted. If you do not comply with these rules, you may lose control over time when you move with an unconfigured system. To adjust the steering wheel, ensure that:
" Your hands were on the steering wheel slightly bent in the elbows.
-Sufficient freedom of movement was ensured.
" You were well aware of all the readings of the instruments on a combination of instruments.
