In some cases, a rear view mirror is required to be removed from a vehicle's interior. Removing the rear view mirror
The procedure for removing a rear-view mirror depends on your car. Of course, different models might have subtleties, but in general terms, the recommendations are the same for everyone.
Removing the rear-view mirror from a domestic car (approximately until 2009). Until recently, the salon mirrors in all domestic cars were fixed for two bolts. To remove such a mirror, you must do the following:
- remove the bolt from the bolts, if you have it,
- to unscrew the bolts by holding the mirror,
- remove the mirror,
- degreasing the mirror's anchorage location.
The mirror installation should be done in reverse order. Be sure to ensure that the mirror position of the windscreen does not shift.
With the invarients, the removal of the salon mirror is a bit more complicated. In order to remove the mirror, an effort is required, but in this case there is a risk of damaging the glass. The order of action in this case is as follows:
- remove all plastic fillers from the mirror,
- with a steady (!) force, without a rope, to pull the mirror in the direction of the ceiling.
In some cars, to remove the salon mirror, you need to press or remove the special lock. Reconsider the mirror frame for a pedal or button that you can click.
When setting a mirror back, you should not be doing too much. Don't forget, you're squeezing the windshield, which, with too much pressure, can crack.
If you are not sure that you will be able to disassemble and remove the rear view mirror with your hands, it is better to entrust this procedure to the specialists.
