As a rule, it is not the lid of the hatch itself that freezures the water in the mechanism (the lever) which holds the lid. To prevent this from happening, each time after the winter wash, a button that repulls the lid must be fleshed out.
If the lid is tepid and it doesn't open, it's a plastic card to lift it, and it's going to open easily. Then it is necessary to splash the button and lever with silicone grease.
