In Mondeo 3 the audible signal is located at the front of the splash. The dynamic itself is perfectly protected from moisture and dirt, so its failure is most likely due to a problem with the transaction. But contact can be broken not only in the interior of the engine compartment, but in the steering wheel.
It is not recommended to remount because it is under the airbag and it is easy to damage it when it is dismantled.
