The LCM system (Licht Control Modul) at BMW 1 generation is designed to increase the safety of the movement in the case of a burnout lamp in one of the reversing lights. For example, if the stop lamp fails, the light control module automatically increases the voltage in the rear position lamps to temporarily replace the stop lamps. This display shows the driver's display of the malfunction information. In addition to the stop lamp, the system allows for the temporary shift of the functions of defective lamps to other lighting appliances in the event of a failure of the reversing lamp, front fog lamp or rear direction-indicator lamps.
