For Skoda Octavi cars, the manufacturer shall be required to have a coolant consisting of a mixture of liquid with a low freezing temperature (corresponding to the standard VW TL 774 /D or C) and drinking water. Its advantage is a relatively slight biological splinter after the end of use in a car. It is recommended to replace the coolant after three years of operation. In view of the fact that the cooling liquid contains additives that prevent the development of corrosion in cooling and heating systems and for the generation of mineral sediments, it should be used all year round.
The coolant concentration must be (also all year round) such that the mixture is not frozen at temperatures up to -25º C. Consequently, the portion of the liquid with a lower temperature of hardening shall be not less than 40 per cent and not more than 60 per cent of the total volume (mixture 2: 3).
