Skoda Octavia is installed with a running wax thermostat whose valve begins to open at a coolant temperature of 87 ° C and at a full speed (at least 7 mm) at a temperature of 102 ° C.

Thermostat bodies are different in shape and location, depending on the type of engine. Some are made of aluminum casting and some are made of plastic. The thermostat is not repaired, and in the case of breakage it needs to be replaced with a new one with the same order number.

So, to test the thermostat, do the following:

1. Remove the thermostat and put it in the water receptacle;

2. Place an exact thermometer;

3. Heat up the water and see if the valve opens at an installed temperature (87 ° C) and the full discovery will take place at boiling point.
