The oil pressure indicator on the Chevrolet Cobalt must be caught when the ignition is on and off after the engine starts. If the lamp continues to burn, it may be an indication of problems in the lubrication system-for example, low oil level, defect of the pressure sensor.

If the oil level is normal and the indicator continues to burn, traffic is prohibited. The pressure indicator may blink at idle speed when the engine is warmed up. This is not a malfunction. After the engine speeds up, the light should stop flaring.
