The action of the engine during the soak period should not cause concern. This is one of the characteristics of the engine with a system of variable phases of the MIVEC gas distribution. This is stated in the operating manual.
After a full soak, Mitsubishi Outlander XL should disappear. If this is not the case, the engine is really bad and it needs to be diagnosed in a car service.
