If a low oil-pressure lamp is lit on the Lifan Smiley dashboard, it is necessary to check the oil level first. At normal level, we'll check the pressure in the lubrication system. To do this:
- Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector and turn the sensor with a wrench.
- To connect the pressure gauge into the sensor's nest and start the engine.
- After the engine warm up to the operating temperature, we measure the oil pressure. It shall be at idle for more than 80 kPa and at 3000 rpm, in the range of 300 to 480 kPa.
- If the pressure is lower than the regulatory pressure, we need to check the oil pump.
