When there is a need for large cargo in front of the motorist and there is not enough luggage to be transported, there is a need to buy a trailer. There is a new question: "Which trailer is better to buy and how to pick it right?"

First, determine what you need the trailer for. Depending on this, the specific type of trailer for the passenger car should be chosen.

Types of trailers for passenger cars

On-board trailers. Perfectly suitable for the carriage of large cargo (e.g., boards or bags with cement for repair). A single variety of on-board trailers is a hydraulic-resistant dump, which greatly facilitates the unloading procedure. This type of trailer is the most universal.

Trailers for the transport of equipment. If you have a quad, a motorcycle or a boat, a special trailer will be required. Sometimes such trailers are fitted with a small winch to facilitate loading and unloading.

A trailer. Miniature homes on wheels are covered "capsules", which are equipped with all necessary for a more or less comfortable life on a journey. In addition to trailers, trailers are also mobile offices.

Trailer settings for passenger cars

Trailers for passenger cars vary in number of axles: they are usually one-axis and two-axle. Two-axle trailers are fitted with a turning mechanism and have greater manoeuvrability during traffic.

Another important parameter to be taken into account when selecting a trailer is its capacity. Note that if the maximum carrying capacity of the trailer exceeds 750 kg, the trailer must be equipped with its own braking system.

In the case of the choice of an onboard trailer, the Russian stamps (ICA, CMS, Trailer, etc.) occupy a significant part of the market. In addition, there are trailers that are collected from foreign spare parts in Russia (for example, Respio). If you want to buy a foreign-made trailer, you can look at the Falcon or Finn-Traileri stamp.

Rights of the trailer

Another question that interests motorists is whether the right to the trailer is needed. It all depends on the mass of this trailer itself. If the maximum authorized mass of the trailer does not exceed 750 kg, the individual category is not required. In addition, in order to be able to drive a car with a category B trailer, several other conditions must be met:

  • the maximum permissible mass of the trailer shall not exceed the mass of the motor vehicle,
  • The mass of the motor vehicle and the maximum authorized mass of the trailer in sum shall not exceed 3,500 kg.

If the trailer does not fall under these restrictions, a separate category of right-BE will have to be obtained for driving the car.
