The main function of the Servotronic system is the regulation of the impact of steering amplifier according to the current speed of the vehicle. The presence of the Servotronic function makes driving more comfortable, since a smaller number of efforts are required to steer the steering wheel at high speeds. This function is also useful for parking as it provides a great maneuverability of the car. In standard BMW 5 E60, the Servotronic system is not included and is delivered to the car as an option.
