SsangYong Kyron vehicles use different types of rear bridges, so the choice of spare parts for repair or replacement of the gearbox must be handled with caution.
Today there are two different bridges on the car that differ in the type of differential locking-LSD and LD. You can find out the type of differential by VIN-number, as well as on the results of a bridge test, the latter sometimes easier. To do this, it is necessary to test the rear wheels with the help of a jack, twist one of the wheels and draw conclusions:
- If the wheels turn on one side at once (without the click) are the differential LSD.
- If a single wheel turns a click and starts to rotate, the second is the differential LD.
It should be noted that LSD bridges have been stainfully stopped since 2012.
