When the PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF alarm is activated on the Mercedes E-Class central console (W211)

The PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF control lamp on the Mercedes E-Class central console (W211) is activated when the passenger airbags are switched off.

If the vehicle is not equipped with an automatic detection system for a child seat in the front passenger seat, the PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF control lamp will light briefly when the key is in position 2. In case the lamp does not light, contact the Mercedes Maintenance Station to check the automatic detection of the child seat and the airbag system.
