You can independently diagnose the cause of the failure of the mechanism that raises and alters the seat on the Jaguar X-Type. When the mechanism is activated, the sound of a working motor is heard, but the seat is not raised to the end or raised at all, the problem is likely in the worn or broken gear to the plastic wheel gears. The problem is solved with the replacement of wornout gears, many are installing metal. If the mechanism is not heard, it is probably a problem with the engine, fuses, or wiring.
