The ABS indicator may indicate various breakages of the system, most often the failure of one or more sensors, and sometimes a breakdown of the electronic control unit. However, quite often the indicator is triggered for other reasons:
- closure of sensors due to debris, water or corrosion;
- ABS fuse failure.
In the first case, it is recommended that the sensor connectors be cleaned (and many drivers isolate the connector using the duct tape and other tools). In the second, it is necessary to identify and replace the failed fuse. The ABS fuse is located in the engine compartment over the bank. There is one thing here: the fuse can launder, but it looks like a whole, so it needs to be removed for inspection.
