BMW 3 E46 has the option of saving up to four different options for the same function for each driver. The settings are saved in the car's memory block, the Car Memory, and the Key Memory Key. In doing so, each driver must have a separate key with remote control, recognizing that the car itself will activate the appropriate settings in his memory.
