Skoda Fabia II is equipped with plastic protection of the engine compartment. However, depending on the modification and the option package, the security might be different. For example, in the sports bag of options, not only the engine, but also the fuel line, the engine is tickered.

Owners of cars outside the city recommend replacement of plastic protection with metal for a number of reasons: even if during the winter the mechanical impact of the protection may not have occurred, the possibility of partial damage to plastic is likely. The result of this damage may be the appearance of foreign sounds in the front of the body.

Metal protection, such as Protex 1115811, is suitable for all Skoda Fabia, starting with the 2006 issue. The steel sheet will protect the engine's crankcase and gearbox from sufficiently severe mechanical effects, for example, from stones that may occur between the tracks on a dirt road.

It is considered that the protection of the crankcase worsens the cooling conditions of the engine and, in particular, the PPC. As to the engine, this is a misconception, the ACPR has also been fitted with a heat exchanger, and because of the replacement of the personnel protection on the metal, there will be no damage. The installation of the protection that covers most of the engine compartment is not recommended only to the owners of Fabia with a DSG box due to a tendency to overheat in traffic jams.
