Often, even after a short trip, you can smell an unpleasant smell like the smell of burning rubber. Its source is located in the rear left wheel area. This is the problem most of the second generation X-Trail's owners.
The most likely cause of the smell is the silencer close to the arch. A particularly strong smell can be in winter weather, or slushy weather. The smell does not indicate a problem, but is a consequence of the design features of the car.
