To remove the thermostat on the Honda Civil 8: Remove the engine coolant. Then remove the air purifier in the assembly. Remove the wiring-harness off the wiring harness, remove the radiator lower hose, the coolant re-start hoses, remove the exhaust pipe system. Then remove the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) and remove the thermostat enclosure. Remove the EGR valve, the thermostat lid and the thermostat. Install the new thermostat. then install the thermostat up and cover the thermostat. Collect everything in reverse sequence by installing new sealings. Then fill the coolant with the radiator and remove the air from the cooling system with the heater valve open.

  • Engine coolant.
  • Then remove the air purifier enclosure.
  • Remove the wiring harness off the wiring, after disconnecting the heat sink lower hose, the coolant intake hoses, and the heater hose.
  • Further dismantle the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe.
  • Disconnect the EGR connector and remove the thermostat.
  • Remove the EGR valve, the thermostat cover, and the thermostat itself.
  • Install the new compaction ring into the thermostat, then install the pin up and the thermostat cover.
  • Gather everything in reverse sequence by installing new compaction rings.
  • Then fill the coolant with the radiator and remove the air from the cooling system with the heater valve open.
