The modern bearings of the back bridges can serve about 150,000 kilometres. Front-bridge bearings are tending fast. Wheeled bearings on the Ford Mondeo III are installed in an assembly, so they are to be replaced in full when they are damaged.
The bearing of bearings can be determined by the strong noise from the rotation: the breaking noise at the right turn points to the defective front bearings on the left, the noise at the left turn-on the right wheel bearings.
Before you visit the workshop, you can perform an independent check of the gauge of the wheel bearings.
- To do this, install a car on an asphalt or hard surface.
- Take the wheel at the top and move the vehicle across the longitudinal axis of the car.
- The working bearings will do so silently and without a gap.
- If there is a small gap on the front wheel bearings, it is necessary to define the defective axial pivot.
