It is recommended to regularly check the transverse lever on the Ford Mondeo III, as the shedding dirt and water turns the grease of the transverse lever into the abrasive paste. This results in the corrosion of the bearings and the deformation of the hinges.
To test the bearing of the transverse lever, rotate the steering gear to the right and to the left.
Visual inspection of ball joints for damage. To do this, install the mount lever and check the clearance.
If the mounting lever is rotated without resistance, the joints and the transverse lever shall be replaced immediately.
