Adjustment of the Audi A4 B7 gearshift mechanism

Regulating the gearshift mechanism at A4 generation 3 with the ILC is as follows: Take off the control room and release the air conditioner. Take off the ashtray and disconnect it from the air-conditioner. Take off the noise screen from the gearshift gear casing. Measure the distance between the rubber thumb of the engine. It should be 85 mm. If the distance does not match the nominal speed, loosening the gear selector bolts and adjust the distance by moving the lever bearings.

1. We're taking off the ballpoint and the lever.
2. The air conditioning control unit is off.
3. Take off the ashtray and plug it in.
4. Take off the nois-insulating screen from the gearshift mechanism.
5. Measure the distance between the rubber thumb of the engine. It shall be 85 mm.
6. If the distance does not match the nominal value, looses the switch gear selection bolt and adjust the distance by moving the lever bearings.
7. We tighten the bolts to 23 Nm.
8. Loosin the bolt-lever cable and align the lever in the middle of the bearings.
9. We tighten the bolts to 23 Nm.
10. Set it all back.
