The ninth generation Lancers of the ninth generation were equipped with shaded headlamps: the inner part (around the reflectors) was black, creating the effect of a shaded lamp but did not affect the quality of the road illumination. Motor vehicles 1.3 and 1.6 litres had a fully silvery internal lamp surface.
The silver lights can be turned into black headlamps. To do this, remove the headlights, heat the rubber-dryer of the sealant between the glass and the unit of the headlamp, separate the glass, remove the reflectors and cover the interior of the headlamp with a black lacquer. The reflectors are better packed, for example, in the film while the work is being done so that they do not get dirty or scratched. If the headlamp is heated, it shall be attentive that the sealants do not begin to drip into the interior of the headlamp. The glazing shall be glued commencing with the sharp part of the headlamp.
After the lacquer is completely dry, the headlights need to be reassembled and installed on the vehicle.
