The automatic gearbox on the Chevy Captiva has several linear ranges:

-D is the main mode intended for normal driving conditions. Switches all five gears.

-4-mode excluding fifth gear. It is intended for use in the movement of cars by hilly, mountainous terrain, in traffic jams and downhill downhill slopes.

-2 mode, which allows only the first and second gear. It is advisable to include this range in steep gradients and when the engine is engaged in prolonged downhill braking. The vehicles have been installed in a 6-speed ACPR with a different switching system since 2012.
