The pedal knot is in any car except specially adapted for the disabled and equipped with manual control. The food, along with the steering, is part of the main tools by which the driver is dispersed, slowed down, stops the car and is maneuvering. The pedal knot is attached to the body of the car. The device is almost identical to most cars. Differous in a pedal device based on the type of transmission

Differous in a pedal device based on the type of transmission

Modern cars are equipped with both a manual and automatic gearbox. In cars with ACPR, the pedal unit consists of two pedals: gas and brake, and in vehicles with ITCP three: gas, brakes and clutch. The transfer of vehicles from the ACPR is automatic, so only the right leg, which the driver presses for gas, is used for control. In motor vehicles, the third pedal is the clutch of the pedal. The right leg is used to control the brake and gas pedal and the clutch pedal (leftmost) the driver presses the left foot. This practice is generally accepted and must be followed when passing the driving test in HYDU.

Brake pedal

When applied to the brake pedal, the load shall be transmitted to the amplifier, which shall create an additional force on the master brake cylinder. At the end of braking (release of the brake pedal), the foot pedal shall be moved to the reference position.

The brake pedal does not differ in the complexity of the design. It is a lever with the bottom end and two holes closer to the upper end. Through one of the holes (the closer to the middle) is the pin, which is the axis of the lever that allows the pedal to swing forward-backwards in limited space. The pedal with which the brake pedal is attached to the motor shield is arranged in such a way that the brake pedal can only move in one plane without being "flatten" from side to side. The second hole in the lever shall be used to connect to the vacuum amplifier of the brakes and, if not present, with a wall plug of the master brake cylinder. For reliable and at the same time the mobile connection through the plug and the hole in the lever will push the metal pin. It is protected by a stop pin inserted at the end of the pin.

The brake pedal in any motor vehicle shall be accompanied by the illumination of the stop lamp. For this, the actuator (the normal, non-fixed button, which the motorists call a frog) has been reinforced on the arm of the brake pedal arm. The brake pedal shall be returned to its original position as soon as the driver lifts the leg. To do this, it is equipped with a powerful return spring.

accelerator pedal (gas pedal)

The gas pedal (and if the official name is used, the accelerator pedal) is used to change engine speeds. When the accelerator pedal is pressed, the speed of the car is increased, and if the driver takes off the foot of the gas pedal, the driver decreases.

In cars of the ' 70s and earlier years, you can meet the accelerator pedal with floor installation

The gas pedal device is different from the clutch pedal and the brake. Unlike the brake pedal, the gas pedal is attached to the arm, not the upper end, but the end of the gas line to the upper hole. This is explained by the fact that the clutch and brake pedals are designed to pressure and the throttle pedal to pull.

It consists of a bracket, a lever, and a supporting platform like other pedals. A return spring is used to return to its original position.

Sometimes the length of the lever on the pedal is longer than the other pedals. This is due to the fact that, unlike other pedals, the driver is often forced to press for gas continuously and hours, especially if he has a long way to go.

The Bertone studio in 2001 developed the Fio concept without the pedals and the dashboard. All control of the car is realized in the body of the joystick, which replaces the steering wheel

As an alternative to a long lever in the cars of the 70 and earlier years of the release, you can meet the accelerator pedal with the floor installation. In this case, the lever is mounted to the upper edge of the long anchor area, but not the weld and the mobile, with the leader pin. The lower end of the site is attached to the floor with the same mobile connection. This design was considered more convenient: the driver was able to hold the heel to the floor firmly and in advance of the long track. In modern vehicles the travel of all pedals has become considerably softer, so the fashion on the floor pedal of gas has passed.

clutch pedal

The adhesion of the clutch of the clutch is generally identical to the brake pedal. It attaches to the arm arm, not in the middle as the accelerator pedal, but at the top. Her task, like the brake pedal, is to put pressure on the fork. A return spring is used to return to its original position.

Drive-by-Wire

Drive-by-Wire is an electronic system consisting of servo drives (electric motors) and an electronic control unit.

By pressing the pedals in a car equipped with Drive-by-Wire, the driver, in fact, does not control them, but only gives orders to the onboard computer. The computer processes the commands, targeting the readings of the sensors, and, as required, enables or disables servo motors that make the effort required, for example, to actuate the service braking system.

For the first time, the system has been used on trucks and special equipment, such as Mercedes-Benz Unimog, where a significant effort is sometimes required to brake from the driver. In passenger cars, the brake servo system appeared with the development of hybrid and electric motor vehicles.

Interesting facts about a pedal node

The Italian design studio Bertone developed a concept car, Fio, which was designed to use Drive-by-Wire back in 2001. Fio doesn't have a pedal or a dashboard. All control of the car is realized in the hull of the joystick which replaces the steering wheel.

The current demands of passive safety are becoming increasingly complex and thoughtful. Many modern models establish a safety-proof, grassy knot, which is separated from the body in the event of an accident and reduces the risk of damage to the driver's legs.
