There may be more than one reason for a button failure. The first probable cause is a failure of the spiral contact within the middle part of the steering wheel. The second is the poor contact in one of the plumes, which are also located inside the steering wheel.

  • The first probable cause is a failure of the spiral contact within the centre of the steering wheel.
  • The second is bad contact in one of the plumes, which are also located inside the steering wheel.

The steering wheel will have to be taken apart to determine the cause of the malfunction. This is desirable in the service, because when the central part of the steering wheel is dismantled, it is likely that one of the plumes will be precipitating.
