Opel Astra J is equipped with mechanical active head restraints. The principle of their operation is as follows: in the event of an accident, the driver (or the front passenger) shall be pressed in the seat and preset the back onto the moving plate (fixed on one side only) to which the cable is attached. The height is pulled out and forward the front head of the head restraint four centimeters forward. This reduces the inverse of the driver's head or passenger's head, thereby reducing head impact head restraint, reducing the risk of neck injury.
