How to avoid the spread of brake pads?

What is the cause of climbing? It is not difficult to guess that it is the moisture that remains on brake discs and pads. It's rapidly turning into ice, "freezing" the disk-to-disk. And this moisture can get into the braking system not only from the road-it can also be condensation formed by the heat during the movement of the pad. There are several ways to avoid this.

Experts also recommend that the car not leave the car in winter-the probability that the motorist will not be able to "tear off" the disc is very large in the morning. It's best to leave the car on gear on.

It is important to remember that the pads have special holes for water runoff-they need to be regularly inspected and, if necessary, cleaned.

What if there's a pad?

If trouble is to be avoided, the specialists and resourceful motorists recommend the following solutions.

First of all, it is necessary to try to start gently from the spot-in the case if the pads are not too strong, it will help to "tear off" them from the disks. If this measure has not produced results, it is possible to use hot water or boiling water. The brake disc should be carefully polished until a distinctive cod indicates that the pad is off. You should not forget that you need to dry the pad immediately after the start of the movement, or hot water will quickly cool and turn into ice.

If you are able to use an outlet, it makes sense to use an electrical convector or a conventional hair dryer to back up the pad. In this case, the motorist will avoid the need to dry the water wells and to repeat such a situation.

A lot of motorists are heating the pad with an improvised "hairdryer"-the hot air from the exhaust pipe. This only requires a hose that is suitable for the diameter of the exhaust pipe. One end of the hose should be pulled on the pipe, and the other end should be directed to the adjacent pad.

In order to minimize the possibility that the pad shall be used, a number of simple measures should be taken, including the drying of the pad by pressing the brake pedal. It is also important to remember that in winter it is better not to leave a car for a long time on the handbrake-it is better to take advantage of the gear. If the pad is still attached to the disc, hot water or warm air can be heated.
