History of the windshield washer

For the first time, windshield washer appears on cars in the second half of the twentieth century. In Russia, the washer first appeared on the cars of the Gorky Automobile Plant.

The windshield washer got GAZ-M72 "Pobeda". Then the system migrated to the legendary 21st "Volga". The windshield washer was a mechanical one. To get water, you had to pull the handle on the front panel. The pump was later moved under the driver's feet and was given a small pedal to the left of the main.

Soon the mechanical pump gave way to electrical. Now, to put the water on the windshield, it wasn't necessary to stomper a pedal or pull a pen. The electrical pump is activated either by a befriend switch or by a key on a torpedo. The engineers later aligned the activation of the washer with the automatic activation of the wiper blade.

The windshield washer injector has also evolved. Sometimes they call them "jikelers." In the middle of the last century, the nozzle was usually one and was placed on the top of the windshield, and the water was only served on half of the windshield from the driver's side.

The nozzle was then moved down and mounted either on the hood or on the bar under the windshield. And the cleaning fluid was applied to both the driver's and the passenger side of the windshield.

Frequently the injectors were fitted to the wiper of the wiper blade. But such a decision was tainting the appearance of the car, so it was only on trucks and buses.

Device and principle of the windshield washer

The windshield washer consists of a bar, a pump, a pipe, a windshield and a switch. The tank is most often placed under the hood of a car. The amount, depending on the model, usually ranges from 2.5 to 5 litres. There's a power pump embedded in the frame of the washer. He's connected to a pipe that goes to the nozzle.

To pump the omitting liquid to the driver, it is sufficient to pull the beaner switch that activates the pump, and the liquid under pressure is sprayed on the windshield. On the other, most vehicles automatically turn on the wiper blade to the wiper blade.

In general, the jet-glass injections of the windshield washer are used. That is, the liquid is served in the form of a jet. But modern cars are increasingly common in modern cars. They sprinkate the cleaning fluid, unlike the inkjet, rather than the blasting, for the most part of the windshield. This solution reduces the consumption of the cleaning fluid and allows more efficient cleaning of the glass from the mud. In addition, for countries with cold climates, many manufacturers are able to complete their models with heaters.

The top of the windshield washer is usually located under the hood of the car. For the convenience of motorists, its lid, in most cars, has oval form and is coloured in yellow, so as not to confuse it, for example, with an oil filler throat or a coolant tank.    Many modern vehicles have a cleaning fluid level sensor. And when it falls below a quarter of a bachka, the light bulb on the panel will be light.

In the warm time of the year, simple water can be used as a cleaning fluid. If the vehicle is used on the road, it can be added a little detergent to remove insect debris more efficiently.

In the winter tank, the washer tank must be filled with an unfreezing liquid. But if you did not catch the cold before the cold and the water froze in the water, you could fire it in a few ways.

The easiest is to leave the car for the day in the underground parking, for example, at the mall. Even in the bitter cold, temperature is generally positive.

After the water melts, the tank to the brim should be filled with a non-freezing liquid. But if there was a lot of water in the water, it would have to be merged. And then fill the "no-shimmer."

As a last resort, when there is no underground parking or warm boxing, you can take off the tank and bring it home. But this is not the way for many people because of the complexity of dismantling.

Another problem that amateurs often encounter is the clogging of the faker. In order to be cleaned, a thin wire is needed. It is inserted in the nozzle opening of the sored nozzle and cleaning. But if this isn't the way to help, you have to take off the housing. It can either be washed at home by a strong jet stream or ventilator with the help of a compressor for swap tyres.

In the future, in order to avoid such problems, when filling the cleaning fluid, ensure that the tank does not get dirt and close the lid.
