The VAZ 2114 VAZ mass flow sensor plays a very important role in the formation of fuel-air mixture. The air mass flow sensor, the same as the flow-meter, measures the amount of air entering the engines of the VAZ 2114 engine, as well as the reaction time.

The air mass flow sensor at VAZ 2114 is located under the hood of the air filter.

The normal air flow rate for the engine VAZ 2114 per litre is: about 10 kg per hour of operation at 850-950 rpm, between 19 and 21 kg per hour of operation at 2000 rpm.

  • about 10 kg per hour of operation at 850-950 rpm,
  • between 19 and 21 kg per hour of operation at 2000 rpm

These values are characteristic of the fully-servicer DFP (flow-meter) of the VAZ 2114. If the air is less than normal, the fuel consumption and the engine power are reduced. If, on the contrary, air is spent more than the norm, the dynamics increase, and with it increases the "appetits" of the VAZ 2114. In addition, when the air flow rate is increased, the engine start-up difficulties occur during the cold time of the year. If the difference in air flow is 2 to 4 kg, then the engine of VAZ 2114 starts to "dull" and be cranky.

VAZA 2114 problem symptoms

The main symptoms of the failure of the MFP for the VAZ 2114 are as follows:

  • are experiencing failures during speed dial or idling,
  • the machine is stalls in gear shifting,
  • The dynamics and the power fell appreciably.

The Check Engine lamp on the dashboard will not be caught.

How to check the work of the DMRI in the VAZ 2114

If there is a suspicion that the VAZ 2114 mass flow sensor is down, it can be checked:

  • disconnect the sensor,
  • start a motor,
  • to see the idling speed.

If the idling speed sensor is greater than 1500 rpm, the VAZ 2114 is down. In addition, if during a trip with a mass airflow sensor disconnected, the machine is more to the left and is gaining momentum, this also means a malfunction of the flowmeter.

DMRs error on board VAZ 2114

In addition, sometimes the VAZ-2114 tail is a "low-level MRI" error. There are many reasons for this error:

  • The mass air flow sensor is not connected to the wire.
  • The mass in the sensor's chain is oxidigged or broken,
  • Sensor signal wires are damaged or not properly connected,
  • closure in signal wires of sensor,
  • sensor circuit breakers,
  • The air mass flow sensor is not working correctly,
  • The engine control unit is not operating correctly.
