The ban on the use of mobile phones by drivers while holding a mobile phone is effective from 1 April 2001. The responsibility for this is provided under article 115, paragraph 8, of the RSFSR Code of Administrative Offences. Ten years ago drivers had no alternative but to purchase a headset intended for ear. Now the problem is solved-the phone can be connected to a regular audio system bluetooth technology. However, it is not so smooth-considering a wide range of vehicles and a very unquantifiable variety of telephones. Although there are no common rules for connecting all the smartphones to all cars, since the regular media centers operate under different operating systems, manufacturers are trying to unify the connection process to make the task easier for the user.

Where recommendations for smartphone connectivity are provided

General recommendations on how to connect the phone to the media center of a modern car are contained in the instructions received by every person who bought the car in a car dealership. As a rule, it is possible to connect most smartphones to the system of the chenes-fries system, but even there is a note that says that "the connection procedure is individual for each phone model." Therefore, it will be necessary for the first attempt to reserve instructions for the smartphone itself and to carefully examine the relevant points. If the phone is connected from the first time and "profiled" in the hands-free system-fine, if not, then they will have to look for reasons, and there may be several.

Common problems connecting the smartphone to the media center of the car

Unforeseen circumstances may even arise at elemental level. For example, if the motorist is often forced to switch from one vehicle to another, and all of them are the same models, when they connect to the system, the chands may fail because the phone may not detect changes and connect to the center of the first car with which it was synchronized with bluetooth. The phone transmits to the media center a list of contacts that will be available for voice call after synchronization. It happens once, the first time that you synchronize, and when you go to another machine, the Smartphone can assume that nothing has changed. To "support" two or more cars of the same brand, it is necessary to create their own profile for each, calling them, for example, Qashqai 1 and Qashqai2.

Complications often arise in support of relatively rare smartphones. Although the model information might appear in the media center's support list, there will be no real connection attempt. As a rule, either the media center or the smartphone "do not see" each other. As an option, one of the devices "sees", the other one is not.

Frequently, the media centers "hang out" while loading a phone book. This, according to the feedback from the automobile forums, especially "rattled" smartphones running under the Windows Mobile operating system, in which contacts are stored in their own format file. At best, the phone numbers are being unloaded, and their names, the media center "does not see". This makes it difficult for voice control of the set, and for the caller to be defined on the incoming call. In the worst case scenario, the online directory is loaded by the operating system that manages the media center. Failures when connecting devices running on the Android and iOS operating systems are much less common.

Generally, it is harder to "partake" with a media center that works on an older version of one of the mobile operating systems. A common "bug" in connection with not new smartphones is their inability to work with a large number of devices and remember the settings for each of them. If the smartphone does not see the media center or is unable to recognize the synchronization attempt (as long as it remains in the password request mode), it often helps clean up the list of devices with which the phone has synchronized earlier. After the list is destroyed, the smartphone is searching for available devices and can see the media center.

Connect your smartphone to an old model's media center

A number of manufacturers, including BMW and Lexus, have started to equip vehicles with media centers operating in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The options of these systems often include support for synchronization with bluetooth devices, but if you try to connect a modern smartphone to them, you will have to overcome some difficulties. For example, to connect the iPhone or iPod to the BMW E39, you first need to make sure that the ULF module is installed in the boot or under the cover on the driver's side of the passenger compartment. The module has a password that must be entered when you resynchronize the plug-in. Then, you need to activate the motor saucer, making the module available for search. In the case of E39, the steering system is operated by buttons on the handlebar. Therefore, it is necessary to press and hold the tube button for a few seconds, then, without the release button, turn the key in the ignition locking system to the first position. Such procedures imply a careful examination of the user's guide to the car of a particular model. The complexity of the scheme is obviously due to the fact that the BMW, at the time of production of the E39 model, was engaged in the implementation of the advanced at the time of the function, and there were no common methods. Therefore, the engineers have implemented the connection of the blues in the way that they thought it was optimal at the time and using the capacity of the state media system.

In general, it can be said that today, in modern cars of great difficulties with connection of smartphones no longer arises, as the media centers already have information about the features of most operating systems for mobile devices and smartphone models. As for older vehicles, the connection to their obsolete equipment is likely to require quite serious research, and it may be easier for them to buy one of the devices offered in the market with their own Bluetuff module, which connects to a regular media center on an ordinary analog channel.
