The most popular type of body of the targ used in the ' 70s of the 20th century. In those days, the American transport department was in favour of a ban on the usual cabriolet and the family, arguing that these machines had a low level of safety.

The first car with a body type was created in 1961

In cases where vehicles of this type were overturned, people in the passenger compartment were seriously injured. As a result, car makers have begun to supplement the cabriolet and the arcs with the arc of safety, which was designed to protect the driver and passengers at the time of the rollover. After the 1980s, the type of body of the targ assumed the presence of a reinforced windscreen frame, and after the 1990s the type of arc of safety was added.

Vehicles with body

The first car with the type of body of the targ was created in 1961. It was then a modification of the Triumph TR4 model. Five years later (after the Targa Florio races), the new word began to apply to Porsche 911, which began to call the Porsche 911 Targa. It was after that event that the term "targ" was widely used.

Today, the Porsche 911 Targa is represented by a fourth generation model. The manufacturer positions these cars as the most comfortable in its model row.

Porsche claims that the machines with the body of a targ are well suited for travel

Porsche stresses that the machines with the body of a targ are well suited for travel. However, objectively speaking, the car is more suitable for good roads. The driver will feel all the "charm" of a small clearance and a rigid suspension.

Porsche Carrera 4 was created by Porsche 911 Targa. A distinctive feature of the new cars is the full drive, which provides excellent stability during the movement on the straight and on turns. The model row is represented by two execution options: Targa 4 and Targa 4S. The first car is characterized by a 6-cylinder engine with a capacity of 325 h.s. The Targa 4S model has a more powerful 3.8 litre engine (355 hp).

With regard to the external differences from the traditional Porsche 911, in addition to the glass roof, a model with a targ body has polished aluminium beings located along the roof. The side rear glass shape is different: they form a sharp corner, narrowing in the back (traditional glass models are rounded). Due to this feature, the car is visually elongation.

The type of tug body absorbed the characteristics of both the compartment and the convertible

The third difference is the wider body. However, the car kept all the typical external features, which most drivers easily recognize Porsche 911 among other cars.

Design

The type of body of the targ absorbed the characteristics of both the compartment and the convertible. Cars of this kind have two doors and are a variety of sports lineers. The body of a targ is characterized by a rigidly fixed windscreen, a movable roof, and a safety arc behind the seats.

Targa Modern

Today, the term "targ" is referred to as any parent with a non-removable metal arc at the back of the passenger compartment and removable central roofs. If a targ is equipped with a longitudinal beam, it is called T-top or T-rock. The roof should consist of two movable panels, such as Nissan 300ZX T-roof.
