The throttle position sensor plays an important role in the fuel feed system. This is why the operation of the PDA should be given special attention.

When the first symptoms appear, the throttle position sensor should be checked.

1. Verification of the sensor position of the throttle control shall begin with easy access. To make it easier to get to the PDA, remove the air filter air duct from the throttle, and the crankcase ventilation hoses with the HBCD.

2. After this, press the retainer to detach the throttle position of the wires from the sensor.

For ease of reference, denoted the sensor output by the following numbers:

  • 1-power (usually 5 V),
  • 2-mass
  • 3-signal reduced by the engine control unit.
  • 3. Start the ignition.

    4. Connect the "plus" tester to output 1 and the minus to the "mass". The tester shall show a voltage of approximately 5 V (allowing 4.8-5.2 V).

    5. Turn off the ignition.

    6. Move the tester to the resistance measurement mode.

    7. Measure the resistance between conclusions 2 and 3, it shall be between 0.9 and 1.2 kOhm.

    8. Open the throttle control and measure the voltage between conclusions 2 and 3. It should be approximately 2.3 to 2.7 kOhm.

If the verification revealed irregularities in the throttle position of the sensor, it should be replaced.
