Any vehicle in motion must be driven and the steering system in the vehicle has a steering system, where the helmsman is the link for these components. Types of steering equipment

Types of steering equipment

The vehicles may be fitted with either a steering gear reducer or a steering gear.

The steering wheel with the worm gear has a small propensity for the transmission of impact from roughness, the possibility of a greater effort and the large corners of the wheels. At the same time, however, the design has a large number of steering and hinged connections, which contributes to the "accumulation" of the people and makes the rudder uninformative and "heavy". Negative moments, worm gear is produced more than positive and modern cars in their majority are equipped with a wrench.

The steering gear with the wrench is compactness, minimum number of steering and joints and low price. All these factors contribute to its broad application. Okay, the steering gear is perfectly combined with the McPherson suspension in the retransmission, ensuring the accuracy and ease of the steering.

But the spanner management is not without a minus in service. This is the transmission of any shock to the steering wheel, which is due to the simplicity of the structure, which is not actually acceptable for heavy machines.

Assignation of steering traction

In the steering control the steering forces shall ensure that the steering gear is transmitted from the steering control to the wheel-wheels.

The helmsman can have steering gear from both ends, such as the medium thrust, or the threaded end on one side and the steering gear on the other. Through the carving, the short and long steering gear, forming the adjustable side steering rod, is connected.

The hinges on the steering gear (steering nods) are necessary for all movable components in the steering transmission to be freely, relative to each other and body, to be rotated in different planes.

The steering wheel is in turn necessary for steering wheel drive efforts from the steering gear, while ensuring rotation to different angles.

Thus, if both wheels turn into the same angle, the inner wheel will slip sideways (cross the road) while reducing the efficiency of the steering. In addition, the slip will create an additional heat load and wear it. It is possible to remove this deficiency by turning the inner wheel into a larger angle relative to the outer wheel.

When the rotation is passed, each wheel runs on its circumference different from the other, with the outer wheel taking a larger radius than the internal wheel. At the same time, the centre of the rotation of the two wheels is in common, and the inner wheel must be rotated to the larger angle, respectively, relative to the outer wheel.

This is achieved by a special construction of the trapeze, including steering gear with hinges and rotary-wing levers. The necessary angle of wheel steering is achieved by tilting the steering gear with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the length of the steering gear

For example, after the impact of an obstacle leading to the deformation of either the levers or the steering, there is a lack of movement of the vehicle into one of the parties. In other words, it is possible to turn around on the road, say to the left, but not to the right. This indicates that the geometry of the vehicle suspension was broken.

Structural features of the steering control

worm worm

It includes: medium steering with hinges on both sides; two long and two short wheelers with threads on one of the ends and the helmsman's hand on the other. The long and short tip through the coupler is produced by the side steering gear. Long wheelers have left carvings to be able to adjust the wheel ascent.

gear rack

The steering control can have two types of performance: two transverse draught trains fixed at the ends of the steering gear or a rod with their attachment in the middle of the gear rack.

In the case of a small difference in design, they differ in the principle of their work. Thus, the helmsman from the ends of the rake has a connection in the form of a ball, which allows the thrust of "pump" in the plane when passing the roughness, thereby distributing the impact of the road on the elements of the suspension.  Where the steering gear is dockable in the middle of the gear, almost all force of the impact is transmitted to the steering wheel.

The steering wheel consists of 2 horizontal steering gear and the steering gear attached to the front suspension racks. Steering gear is connected to the pivoting levers by means of ball joints and hand over the steering wheel, causing them to turn to the left or to the right.

Malfunction of the steering

Stairs in the suspension or increased movement of the rudder, in addition to the wear of the other suspension elements, may be due to the wear limit of the joints of steering forces. In such cases, the dash steering gear shall be restored by replacing worn parts or replacing the entire steering gear.

It may also be observed that the steering wheel is not fitted with a good quality steering, where all the components of the joints in the steersman's rod are in violation of the factory technology or there is no lubrication.

In most cases, the steering forces are incapacious in the case of a breach of the integrity of the protective cover and the penetration of moisture and dirt into the compound.

Therefore, for a comfortable and safe driving, the best vehicle for any car will be the preventive inspection of the propelling body and steering gear in particular.
