The hermeticity of the steering control in A4 generation 4 is checked after repair work or in the case of a low level of fluid in the tank. Review Technique: Take off the noisel and start the engine, turn the steering wheel to each side, and briefly lock the steering wheel into one of the extreme positions for maximum system pressure (hold not more than 10 seconds).Checking for possible leaks in the following locations: ring of the gears on the valve unit of the steering gear, the connection points of the piping, the sealing of the gear rack, the pump. If it is, the steering mechanism needs to be replaced.

- Rotate the rudder to each of the sides and briefly lock in one of the extreme positions for maximum system pressure (hold not more than 10 seconds).
- Checking for possible leaks in the following locations: ring of gears on the valve unit of the steering mechanism, the connection points of the piping, the sealing of the gear rack, the pump.
- Move the dugout and inspect the hull and dust for oil. If it is, the steering mechanism needs to be replaced.
