The starter is a guarantee of the safe operation of the car. If the manual (parking) brake has ceased to function, it must be adjusted. For the handbrake, keeping a car on a 20 to 25 degree gradient at a manual brake is considered to be a normal 4-6 clicks. If this number of clicks is no longer enough, you must pull out the VAZ cable.

The handbrake design for most of the VAZ models is similar (2106, 2107, 2108, 2109, 21099, 2110, 2111, 2112, 2113, 2114 and 2115), so the brake adjustment principle applies to all motor vehicles.

To apply a VAZ parking brake, the following tools are required: Two keys on 13 ,pliers.

  • 2 keys on 13,
  • pliers.

You will need a lift or an observation pit to perform the work.

Before you start adjusting the waz, you need to lift the machine and outweigh the rear wheels so they can spin freely.

1. Raise the hand brake by 4 to 6 clicks.

2. Find the adjustment bolt and the hand brake nut, clear them from the dirt. On newer models (e.g., Kalin, the adjustment mechanism is closed by the special jacket, so it will have to be removed).

3. Two keys on 13, tighten the adjustment until the wheels stop turning.

4. After the wheels are locked, tighten the adjustment nut up to the end. In this way, you reduce the free hand brake.

5. Counter-nut.

It is recommended that during the adjustment of the VAZ handbrake, it is recommended that a lithole be used to lubricate the litol so that no problems may arise in the future. When the handbrake is drawn, it should be checked. If the number of clicks still does not meet the standard, all of the above steps must be repeated.
