To check the condition of the ignition coil on the fourth generation 4-and 5-cylinder motors of the fourth generation, it is necessary to:
- Visual inspection of the reliability of contacts, the presence of trace-mass leaks from the coil.
- Disconnect all the wires from the coil.
- Measure the resistance between the output of coil 1/-and 15/+. It shall be between 0.5 and 1.5 Ohm.
- Measure the resistance between conclusions 1/and 4. It must be between 5 and 9 Ohm. If the resistance is not nominal, the coil of the ignition is to be replaced.
