It's a good thing to take a ride outside of town! Unfortunately, during a trip to the city, it is not always possible to adequately assess the capabilities of their cars.

The thing is that the road is a trick, and sometimes under the thick layer of leaves it is not possible to see a huge puddle or a casket seems smaller than it is actually. It is not necessary to think that a full drive is a ticket to any part of the globe, since even it is not always saving to talk about rear-wheel cars, the management of which is significantly different from the overdrive in extreme situations.

It's not a common thing to be stuck during a walk in the summer, but this is what happens in winter. The public roads are relatively clean, but the courtyard area is more like a vat of snow, salt and mud. And dirty, usually ice-layer. How do you survive under harsh conditions and release your car from feet of dirt or snow?  Is there a difference in obstructions for the front, rear and four-wheel drive vehicles? What kind of tricks do you need to know to avoid being in such a situation?

Why is the car getting stuck?

In the case of dirt or snow, the wheels of a car equipped with a tread pattern must cling to the hard surface, thereby scrolling and moving the vehicle forward. However, the coating is not always solid, the car is tied by the wheels-and, in case of a complete stop, it is quite problematic to leave the car without any foreign assistance.

Of course, not all vehicles are equally at risk of being stuck in the mud. There are a number of conditions on which the vehicle's ability to be off-road depends. First of all, this is the weight of the car, the power of its engine, and the way of the traction of traction on the wheels. If the leading axis of the car is only one, it will be more difficult to get out of the soft ground, at the same time, the full drive allows to distribute the effort on all 4 wheels at the same time, that is a four-wheel-drive vehicle is much higher. Another pleasant bonus in the fight against the off-road is a number of reduced gears. The reduced gear mode increases the torque at the maximum speed. However, high speeds are not necessary unless it is an autocrat.

How to not be stuck in the mud/snow

There are several conditions that can significantly reduce the chances of getting stuck. There is no fundamental difference between snow and dirt, and the methods are the same. Do not be lazy or afraid to dirty clothes, better get out of the car and quickly assess the road situation, because if the car is stuck, the dirt on the clothes will be more than once.

Any driver, not even a thoughtless specialist, is able to predict the possibilities of his car. On the basis of the collected data on the state of the road and the knowledge of their own car, it is necessary to make a choice: to go further or to search for the bypass path. Again, there is no need to hurry, go to the bypass, it may be much faster than a buxus in a huge pudding.

If you decide to go, you should prepare a car. Depending on the degree of off-road power, you can reduce the pressure in the wheels slightly to increase the grip. The next steps should be based on the parameters of their car.

If the car is inov-rider, that is, the leading wheels in front of the vehicle will not be necessary to turn back, and, having gained a stable low speed, turn on the second gear (so as not to bury in the case of the gasings) and to pass the dirt without any unnecessary levers, without stopping.

For rear-wheel-drive vehicles, the actions are similar to the rear axle only. It is necessary to set the speed before the rear wheels come off the hard surface, need to be gently gas-powered, so as not to lose control of the car; the gas will increase thrust on the leading axis, so it is easier to control the progress of the barrier

If the machine has a full drive, it is necessary to speed up until all the wheels are on the hard surface; if there is a downshift mode, it's better to turn it on for greater confidence.

One of the main rules is to move without ropes, and in no way stop in the mud.

To remove a jammed vehicle

However, these councils are not always effective, and sometimes the car gets stuck in the mud. After a couple of attempts to move forward or backwards in case of failure, do not continue to boil on the spot and try to leave, otherwise you can go deep into the mud. In addition, the clutch will have to be actively engaged and there is a danger of burning it.

If it is not possible to leave, it is necessary to assess the extent of the wheel is bogged down in the mud, which will allow to plan further actions-to try to leave on their own or to call a tow truck. For these purposes, you can use any branch of the tree, scrap metal, etc. In addition to the data about the depth of the puddle/mud you can find foreign objects liable to damage the car. They must be removed.

Before you try to leave, you need to prepare a car. It is always useful to carry a few small wooden bars, which can be placed under the wheels in an emergency. If there are no such items, the same branches of trees and any other solid objects will be fine. It is important to remember that these items can be removed from under the wheels, respectively, near the car should not be people.

If the dirt is too much, you need to free the wheels from the mud before you put them on.

After the wheels are slightly lowered and the wheels are laid/twigs, it is necessary to reduce the weight of the vehicle as much as possible. I mean, drop all the passengers and unload the trunk. It is often recommended to check the number plates or to remove them at all to ensure that they are not lost.

There will be a small cable and a metal scrap in the boot from which you can build a winch. One end of the rope must be tied to a tree and the other end to the car. A piece of crowbar or, in extreme cases, a strong line will perform the function of winch-with these objects the rope can be curled, reducing its length and creating traction force. If you have passengers, you can ask them to push the car back, the main thing is not to make a sudden movement so as not to bury or break the cable.

However, there are situations where there is nothing at all, and the dirt on the knee, the car does not even move. In such a case, the best solution will be to help: as cool, and the services of the tow truck are cheaper than repair of the car.

If it doesn't work out

Even if the car is still stuck in the mud, the main thing to remember is that there are no such situations. It is necessary to remain calm and try to move its forces exactly as long as all possible techniques of influence on the vehicle have been exhausted. Of course, it is always necessary to be able to accept and soberly assess the situation, because it is possible to cause serious damage to the car. If it is not possible to do so, it will be necessary to call a tractor or tractor and tow the car.
