The differential lock is necessary to increase the terrain. Blocking can be either cross-wheel or interaxial differential.

Differential lock may be either manual or electronic. Manual differential lock is usually used on serious SUVs.

For a differential lock, the lock mutts that block the satellite and the differential are used. The advantages of such a differential lock can be attributed first to simplicity. The disadvantages are the need to turn off locks on normal roads. Otherwise, the main gear or bridge may be inoperable.

Mechanical differential can only be blocked on soft coatings

A differential lock with electronic control is generally used for passenger cars and crossover crossers. The electronic system is a brake-wheel brake that is spinning too fast, and, thanks to the free differential, transfers the torque to the wheel, which is slower. It helps to get out of the dirt or snow or make it more efficient to disperse a dirty or slippery road.

These anti-congestion control systems are used to avoid the loss of engine power, which is inevitable with a mechanical differential lock. The weaknesses of the system are its inertia: it does not work at once, and it must be remembered.
