When measuring tyre wear, specialists are advised not to limit themselves to one "control point", but to check the wear and tear at 5 to 6 different locations. At this point, the tyre wear test points shall be located at different points of the wheel circumference, as well as from different edges of the surface (closer to the inner edge, centre closer to the outer edge). During the measurements, you can find that the tyre wear is uneven in different locations. What are the reasons for irregular tyre wear? Why is tire tread unevenly?

  • The length rector at the edges of the tyre is less than in the centre. This indicates that the tyre has been in use for a long period of time.
  • The projector on the edges is more worn than in the middle. This type of uneven wear, on the contrary, shows that the tyre has been under pressure for a long time.
  • The projector is stronger than one side only. It is likely that the reason for the wrong avalom is that the corners of the wheel installation have been violated. One is to visit the service and make a breakup.
  • The upper part of the sidewall (where the sidewall is in contact with the tread) is badly worn. This is most often the case after a trip to a flat tire.
  • The rubber is unevenly spread over the whole circle, most often without any pattern. Such rubber is a sign of aggressive driving with sharp acceleration and braking.
  • tire wear on the same axis when the height of the tread is greater than the other. In this case, the cause is also worth looking for in an incorrectly adjusted assembly-collapse.
